Perennial ryegrass is a cool season bunchgrass with increasing popularity as a forage crop. It is more persistent than related annual ryegrass varieties, growing lower and foregoing seedhead development in the establishment year. Perennial rye germinates rapidly, establishes quickly, and can be grown alone or with legumes in large quanities for use in pasture, hay, silage or turf.
